Once again we were proud to work with the designer Marney Hall and Disney to create the Narnia Themed garden. We were delighted to be awarded a Gold Medal.
The garden recreated the Narnia of the new film "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" which was released 26th June 2008. It incorporated a stunning ruin, the beach where the children first arrive and beautiful native planting which created a truly magic garden.

Working in conjunction with the designer Marney Hall and the Highways Agency (sponsors) we constructed the 'Trunk Roads and Sustainable Roots' garden.
We were delighted to have been awarded a Gold Medal and also Best Show Garden.
This garden represents a piece of verge alongside a motorway somewhere in middle England. This verge is not a fairy tale but a very real representation of the many miles of our main roads which support a diverse flora and fauna. The tarmac, white lines and crash barrier set the scene at the front of the garden whilst the double rail fence and newly planted hedge reinforce this image so familiar to all of us.
The area is a south-facing embankment with shrub plantings of hawthorn, blackthorn, field maple and trees of oak and ash. The ground flora of species such as oxeye daisy, dandelion, campion, buttercup, dock and nettle is a common site but a small damp area with rushes, ragged robin and meadowsweet shows, in a very small area how diverse our motorway flora can be.
